Upcoming July 24 at 11 AM EST: This webinar will explore naked oats (Avena sativa var. nuda), a hull-less variety of oat. Examine its origins, key production traits, and adaptability across diverse environments, alongside its value for human diets and livestock feed.

Tomato Breeding and Disease Mitigation

This webinar discussed how and why new tomato varieties are developed for diverse growing environments around the world. Plant diseases are a particularly challenging aspect for growing tomatoes and we highlight the importance of disease mitigation in the short term and use of disease resistance for new varieties in the long term.

Improved Crop Varieties

This webinar discussed improved crop varieties – what are they, why are they important, and the approaches that are used to create them. We discussed the access challenges that exist when enabling farming families to use improved varieties and approaches for how to innovate using a mix of new and old technologies to facilitate the dissemination of seed.
