Our Story

John Batcha founded Seed Programs International in 1998 when he noticed the amount of seed going to waste in the seed industry. He understood that this seed could be given to communities worldwide that might have difficulties otherwise accessing quality seed, either due to financial or geographic constraints.

Seed Programs now supports local community organizations with accessing vegetable seeds and resources to aid them in becoming food secure and resilient, create sovereign food systems and protect the regenerative farming practices of local people.

We've been working with communities on food security, nutrition and agricultural practices since 1998.
