We Accept Seed and Other Non-Cash Donations

Seed Programs International can receive seed as a non-cash charitable contribution from a donor and provide the donor with IRS Form 8283 for their tax records, a tax benefit based on the donor-assigned value of the provided seed.

We reviews any proposed seed donation to ensure it is appropriate. Generally, we accepts seed where there is:

  • no toxic chemical treatment,
  • germination is above 80%, and
  • the volume of the seed being provided can be placed within our existing distribution network.

In some cases, we can do cost-sharing on shipping. There are also cases where the donor can ship directly to an implementing partner, with Seed Programs International serving as the intermediary for donation paperwork.

SPI can receive other types of non-cash contributions including tools and supplies relevant to the agricultural projects we support. Contributing expertise in support of projects (pro-bono work) is also welcome and, while not tax deductible, is gratefully recognized and documented in accordance with the providing organizations’ requirements.

If you are interested in making a non-cash donation, then please contact us using the form below. We will contact you to learn more about the donation and determine if we can accept it. If the donation is a good fit, we can work together on the logistics to put your donation to good use.
