Even though drought came season after season, and we did not know when the rains will come, we now have enough food to harvest. Our children have full bellies for the first time in months. Thank you SPI.

My garden has continuously provided vegetables for my family. It has also enabled me to sell some vegetables to my neighbors in the community at a relatively low price in comparison to the market price. The money raised helps me in other home expenses while I save the rest in a women savings group. I am grateful to SCINE for the support always.

Thanks to this project, women in the villages are producing more income for their families, independent of the men in their households, and producing high-quality vegetables to augment their diets. The women have even completely transferred to growing solely organic vegetables because of how well they do in market, and how much more taste they have. Bringing regenerative agriculture to this rural region of Senegal is making a long-term impact.

Since joining SPI, I have learned new skills in vegetable growing, market development and bookkeeping. We learned about modern drip irrigation systems and solar energy. We now grow nutritious vegetables like tomato, kale, cabbage, onion, pepper and carrot."

Thanks to SPI, we grow a variety of vegetables, supplement our daily diet with fresh vegetables, and increase immunity. We grow enough vegetables even for the winter. With the surplus, I plan to conserve, prepare and store for the winter.

Thanks to GEA and SPI, I can feed my family nutritious harvest and buy other materials using the revenue we get from the yield and alternative income from cereal trading during the offseason. This farm project and the continued training we receive have enabled us to become producers of food for our families and community.
